Have you guys seen this? Glen Keane draws in virtual reality.

Maybe some of you guys have seen this. I thought some of his words is related to what we have been taught in Acting Introduction class about facial acting.

Some of my faves were:
"An artist spirit is that freedom and fearlessness of being a child.

"My dad was a kid, a big kid. "

"The key to doing those drawings was asking myself; How do I feel? (Empathy?) That's the thing you are gonna hang on to."

Enjoy,

Francis

2nd Times_Staging & Main Poses_Francis.

 09/12/15 (Updated)

I did not feel the line of actions. So I drew some simple gestures, to see them better while acting it out on the mirror.  I added a brick background, to give it a try. I thought, it's simpler instead of outdoor scene. Which one do you guys think it's better, the second one or the previous video? Thank you.

Hello, class. I have been working on sum of five poses today. I am aiming to nail Victor's notes from last night.

On pose one and two, I am planning to put some darts. Should I skip the dart on the first pose?
I am not sure for the number four pose (fr80). I simplified the body at that frame but he must do something tho. Any suggestion?
What do you guys think about the dart position now? I like Janel's idea about hiding the dart at the start. Thank's Janel! :)

What do you guys think if I change  into more casual background setting (on the beach) instead of a bar? That's why I change the pants into short. But here's my problem, there's no way to make the character have  short sleeves.

Thank you

Holidays - Michaels Sunday Update

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to get your thoughts on the continued progress that I have made.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_eAPSdBTK4wOE9vUU1Db0NXakU/view?usp=sharing

*I've refined the mouth and the corners... still need to work on the shapes.
*Added in Shoulder movements.
*Reduced the head move during the kiss.
*Continued to refine the facial animation.

Let me know your thoughts and feedback about these notes and where it's going.

Thanks,
Michael

Video/Reel Review Tools

Came across a couple of neat sites that I thought I'd share with the class

First one is Anilyzer, which lets you input a youtube or vimeo link and frame through it, and you can also watch a slowed down version. Nice for doing a quick anaylsis of video reference. Can't scrub unfortunately.

http://anilyzer.com/

The other site is Reeview It, which is a reel review service (which seems kinda neat) but they've just released their player for free. It's similar to Anilyzer in that you can just paste a link and go, no uploading needed.

Additionally you can do drawovers! It's similar to SyncSketch in that respect, and it lets you hold drawings for 10, 20, 30 frames, which is something I wish SyncSketch would let you do. Doesn't look like there's an easy way to save/share drawings which is a bit of a bummer. Also sadly no scrubbing, audio or visual.

https://www.reeview.it/player

Looks like SyncSketch is still the best of these sorts of sites for now, but these other sites have a few features that I thought were neat.

Oh and also, I tested it last night and Sync Sketch audio scrub worked for me on Chrome, so if the class computer has Chrome it might be worth trying again next week, Victor?

Alternate Animation Clip - Michael

Hi Victor,

I wanted to hear your thoughts on this clip I had done a while back using the same audio clip about National Security. If you still think it needs a major overhaul like the last one I understand and we can just start a new idea after we finish the one we are working on now.

Thank you for taking the time to look at it!
